What began as four individual magazines from the late 80s early 90s full of photography and poetry, became a book exploring the abstract lessons and perspectives I had gained during the four years I spent in college. My time in college started in Savannah, GA and then moved to New York City to study design and lettering for the other three years. This book represents the struggle of a young person trying to figure it out. Hence, Fauxtist- A word I made up to symbolize not only the photography (faux-tography, because it was not my own work) used in the book but also the idea that I feel more like an artist. I had spent four years studying design so it felt fraudulent to call myself an artist, but it’s what I more strongly identify as.
These images show a little bit of how the book came together, you can see the cut up sections of typography and the ripped out images. I would lay everything out in front of me and build each page one by one. After I finished each collage, I’d put it in a large plastic sleeve to be scanned in. Once scanned it, I created order with the individual pages to tell a story.
Public Presences : A small soft cover book was made as a bite-sized version of my artist book, Fauxtist. It is a collaged compilation telling the story of the journey that surrounds us.
A mix of wedding lettering and personal projects that focus of typography.
FLWRSetc is where I personally explore ideas related for floral preservation. I preserve and frame bridal bouquets while also working with natural materials to create eco dyes. For the past year, I focused on pressing and framing. This year I plan to work with native plants as often as possible while still offering special event preservation.

Working alongside The Cottage Rose for the past few years, I have had the opportunity to create an array of projects for them. We’ve collaborated on painted window and murals for the front of their shop as well as fabricated 3 copper floral arbors.
I helped them evolve their branding with an updated logo in 2021 and built them brand specific cards and printed materials to match.
A collection of various marketing materials and print projects I worked on for a few different local kc clients, such as Seven Swans Creperie, City Roots Nursery and Horizon Academy. As well as, marketing design and illustration for an advertising agency.
The Indy 500 holds a special place in my heart and has such a rich history. I choose to understand the sport and especially this event by creating a infographic that displays the history of Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the long time event of the Indy 500 that happens each memorial day at the speedway.
As someone who grew up around racing, I had some previous knowledge, but nothing is quite like the Indy 500. The longtime, international display of motor performance and racing is very different from many of the sports in the USA. This is a snapshot of that history and how things have changed in the over 100 year history at the track.
After freelancing with the team at Houlihan’s, Inc for five years, I was offered a full time position. Over the past six years, I have been part of a team that manages marketing and graphic design for 4 Restaurant concepts. In the past year, I have helped transition websites to new servers, created new menu designs for Houlihans & Devon Seafood, while working day to day on marketing materials that maintain our evolving brand designs.
Being part of the team that launched the brick-and-mortar establishment for Seven Swans Creperie was an exciting experience filled with creativity and multitasking. In my role, I played a part in bringing the vision to life, from crafting captivating menu designs to online ordering system to connect and serve customers during the beginning of the pandemic.
One of the highlights of my contribution was incorporating hand-lettering into the rotating specials signs, adding a personal touch and charm to the dining experience. Additionally, I created hanging and print menu designs that seamlessly evolved with each season, reflecting the freshest ingredients and culinary inspirations.
In a small team environment where versatility was key, I didn’t just stop at design. I also took on responsibilities in managing the front of house, managing the website with online ordering, constructing displays, and other tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the creperie.
